Job Description


Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to appoint an experienced Area Coach for the Southern Cape Region, based in either George or Knysna.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple QSR stores within the region, driving operational excellence, profitability, customer experience, and team performance in line with brand standards.

  • Oversee and manage multiple restaurant/store operations within the Southern Cape region.

  • Ensure all stores consistently meet operational, financial, and customer service targets.

  • Drive sales growth, profitability, and operational efficiencies across the region.

  • Monitor and improve food quality, hygiene, health & safety, and brand compliance standards.

  • Conduct regular store visits, audits, and performance reviews.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Restaurant General Managers and store leadership teams.

  • Ensure effective labour management, scheduling, and cost control.

  • Analyse operational reports, identify trends, and implement corrective action where required.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning initiatives.

  • Drive employee engagement and maintain a high-performance culture.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

  • Manage escalated operational and customer-related concerns professionally and efficiently.


Requirements


  • Previous KFC experience is essential.

  • Proven experience managing multiple stores within a QSR/Fast Food environment.

  • Strong operational and leadership experience within franchise or corporate restaurant operations.

  • Solid understanding of store profitability, food cost control, labour management, and operational reporting.

  • Strong people management and coaching ability.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the region.

  • Computer literate with strong reporting and administrative skills.

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in an Area Coach / Area Manager / Regional Manager role.

  • Strong understanding of QSR operational KPIs and franchise standards.

  • Experience managing high-volume stores.
