Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of consumer appliances, is seeking an experienced Area Business Development Manager (Consultant) to drive market expansion and commercial performance in Uganda. The role will focus on strengthening distributor effectiveness, unlocking new business opportunities, and ensuring consistent execution of business standards across the market.
1. Sales Growth & Market Development
Drive revenue growth through the distributor network
Expand market reach across B2B, corporates, institutions, supermarkets, and independent retailers
Identify and penetrate new market segments to increase product adoption
2. Distributor & Channel Management
Identify, onboard, and develop sub-distributors in collaboration with the main distributor
Monitor distributor performance, stock levels, and pipeline health
Provide ongoing support across operations, logistics, and compliance
3. Reporting & Market Intelligence
Prepare and submit regular reports covering sales performance, customer engagement, and stock movement
Gather and analyze competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy
4. Customer Experience & After-Sales Support
Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution
Guide customers to appropriate service channels
Support the implementation of after-sales service and warranty processes
5. Product & Marketing Support
Work closely with product teams to recommend market-relevant product offerings
Support localized marketing initiatives, activations, and promotional campaigns
Drive brand visibility through on-ground activities and partnerships
6. Performance Management
Monitor KPIs for technicians, service providers, and channel partners
Drive accountability and performance across the distribution ecosystem
7. Financial & Compliance Oversight
Track distributor payments and enforce adherence to agreed credit terms
Ensure compliance with local regulatory and business requirements
Degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
5–7 years’ experience in sales and business development
Mandatory experience in appliances or similar consumer durable products
Strong understanding of the Ugandan market
Proven track record managing distributors, key accounts, and large clients
Experience in stakeholder and team management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Email)
