Job Description

The Architecture Site Engineer is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building facilities, ensuring they remain safe, efficient, and compliant with architectural and operational standards. The role oversees facility inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, space planning, refurbishment and capital improvement projects, contractor management, budget control, and asset lifecycle planning.

The Architecture Site Engineer is also responsible for maintaining accurate facility records, responding to facility-related issues and emergencies, and working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver effective workplace solutions that support business operations while ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular facility inspections and audits, identifying and resolving structural or design-related issues.

  • Manage facility budgets, prepare cost estimates, and oversee procurement for maintenance and improvement projects.

  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and architects on renovation, refurbishment, and capital improvement projects.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and safety of building facilities.

  • Plan and coordinate space utilisation, layout changes, and interior fit-out projects in line with architectural standards.

  • Manage preventive maintenance programmes and asset lifecycle planning for building systems and infrastructure.

  • Maintain accurate facility documentation, including as-built drawings and maintenance records.

  • Respond to facility emergencies (e.g. structural issues, electrical faults, water damage) and coordinate corrective actions.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including HR, IT, and Operations, to manage space requirements and facility-related requests.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture.

  • 3–5 years of experience in Facilities Management, preferably within commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools (e.g. MS Project and Excel).

  • Strong project management, contractor, and vendor coordination skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during facility emergencies.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
