About the Opportunity
Next Step Recruitment is working with a Vancouver-based, internationally recognized architecture and design firm to hire a Marketing & Proposal Specialist.

The firm is known for its work across cultural and community-focused projects, with a strong design reputation and a portfolio that includes complex, high-visibility work. The studio is collaborative, design-driven, and closely connected to the work it produces.

This role sits at the center of that effort. You’ll work directly with Principals and project teams on active pursuits, helping shape how the firm positions itself and contributing to the work that ultimately gets built.

About the Role
This role owns the proposal function end-to-end while supporting key marketing initiatives.

You’ll be responsible for driving multiple pursuits at once, coordinating across teams, and producing clear, well-structured submissions under deadline. The work is fast-moving and hands-on, with a high level of ownership and visibility.

There is also an opportunity to bring more structure and consistency to how materials are developed and maintained over time.

The role is primarily in-office, with some flexibility to work from home once fully onboarded and operating independently.

Key Responsibilities

Proposals

• Identify and track relevant RFQs, RFPs, RFEOIs, and similar opportunities
• Manage the full lifecycle of submissions from intake through delivery
• Work directly with leadership and project teams to shape pursuit strategy
• Lead writing, editing, layout, and final production of proposals
• Ensure all submissions are complete, compliant, and submitted on time
• Support interview preparation and presentation materials
• Maintain visibility on active pursuits and pipeline

Marketing

• Develop written and graphic content for proposals, awards, and business development
• Maintain and evolve core marketing materials (project sheets, resumes, boilerplate)
• Support website and social media updates to keep content current
• Coordinate award submissions and external-facing materials
• Contribute to consistency and quality across all outward-facing content

About You

• You’ve led proposal submissions that have been successfully shortlisted or awarded
• You’re comfortable owning deadlines and consistently getting submissions out the door on time
• You can take raw technical input and turn it into clear, structured, persuasive content
• You notice when things are incomplete, unclear, or off — and fix them before submission
• You can manage multiple pursuits at once without losing track of details
• You’re comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders and keeping things moving
• You’re proficient in Adobe InDesign and comfortable producing polished, submission-ready materials
• You work independently and don’t need close oversight to stay on track
