GENERAL SUMMARY
The Architectural Intern position is a seasonal or temporary role designed to provide hands-on experience within a collaborative design environment. Interns contribute to active projects while gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle, from early design concepts through construction administration.
This role is structured to support learning and professional development. Interns are integrated into project teams and work alongside experienced architects and designers who provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback. Assignments are typically focused on specific aspects of a project, allowing interns to build technical skills, strengthen design thinking, and develop a practical understanding of how architectural projects are executed in a professional setting.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Project Support and Coordination
- Assist the Project Architect with client and project coordination activities, including organizing information, tracking progress, and supporting communication efforts
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions related to project scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Support the coordination of project information between internal team members and external consultants
Project Management Support
- Assist the Project Architect with project management tasks such as document organization, scheduling support, and tracking project milestones
- With oversight from an Associate, take responsibility for limited-scope assignments or smaller tasks within a project, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Maintain awareness of project timelines and deadlines, adjusting priorities as needed to support team objectives
Design and Technical Development
- Contribute to the development of drawings, models, and presentation materials using Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools
- Support the preparation of design documentation at various stages, including schematic design, design development, and construction documents
- Continue building technical skills in drafting, modeling, and detailing through hands-on project involvement
Construction Administration Support
- Assist in construction administration activities under the supervision of the Project Manager or Project Architect
- Support tasks such as organizing submittals, reviewing documentation, and tracking requests for information
- Participate in learning how design intent is carried through construction and how field conditions are addressed
Team Collaboration
- Work as an active and engaged member of the project team, contributing to shared goals and supporting team efforts
- Assist team members in completing specific tasks and deliverables as needed
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative in supporting project work
Professional Development and Engagement
- Continue education through participation in seminars, workshops, and relevant learning opportunities
- Engage in professional organization activities when available to broaden industry knowledge and connections
- Seek feedback from team members to support ongoing growth and skill development
Standards and Client Interaction
- Promote adherence to office standards, processes, and procedures in all assigned work
- Support efforts to maintain strong client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and quality work
- Represent the firm positively in all interactions with clients, consultants, and contractors
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work
- Developing proficiency in current versions of Revit and AutoCAD
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to contribute to and support the preparation of presentations and visual materials
- Demonstrates a professional presence through reliability, honesty, integrity, respect for others, and a positive attitude
- Strong listening skills and openness to feedback, with a desire to learn and improve
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Where required by applicable law, the pay range for this position is provided in the job posting. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, education, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and or benefits in accordance with applicable plans and policies.
PAYROLL
Employees paid on a bi-weekly basis, consisting of 26 pay periods annually, and is issued in arrears. Direct deposit is available.
AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT
Employment with GF is at will, which means that either the employee or GF may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work may be performed in a standard office setting, onsite at client locations, and or on active construction or project sites. Work environments may include exposure to weather conditions, uneven terrain, construction equipment, and other site-related conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires sufficient physical ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform essential job functions.
