Overview

Support marketing initiatives including lead generation, market-trend analysis, and market strategy development in partnership with New Millennium and industry partners.

This will be a part-time internship position based out of the New Millennium Columbia, SC location during the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 terms. The hours will be Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day, totaling 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities, risks, emerging trends, and relevant demographics in the metals industry, and help develop strategies based on those findings.
  • Analyze sales data, pricing performance, and customer profitability to provide actionable insights.
  • Mine project leads for project-specific strategies during the schematic and design phases of construction projects.

Qualifications

Required

  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Computer skills for researching marketing metrics and generating reports.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Interest in pricing, sales analytics, or the metals industry.
  • Familiarity with Excel-based reporting or CRM tools such as Salesforce

In 2010, SDI purchased three plants and other assets: Hope Arkansas; Fallon, Nevada; and Juarez, Mexico. These expand our geographical reach westward.
