Job Summary

Architectural Sales Representatives engage contractors and customers to strengthen the company’s position within the markets it serves. This role is responsible for maintaining and growing existing customer accounts, building long-term relationships, developing new business opportunities, and driving sales of designated products.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining effective relationships with current customers that lead to increased sales and revenue.
  • Working in conjunction with local, regional, and national promotional efforts within masonry and paving.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new customer opportunities, accurately document activities in CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with customers and architects to develop sales strategies, specifications, and project opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities and develop action plans to capitalize on shifts in market.
  • Prepare and present sales project updates, forecasting, and prospecting activity for regular review meetings.
  • Serve as a professional representative of the company at customer sites, job sites, and industry-related activities.
  • Create lunch presentations and providing regular training sessions to cover product introductions and technical information for current and future clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, training, and education.
  • Experience with Masonry/Hardscape product lines and working within the architectural and design communities is a plus.
  • 3 years’ related experience managing a multi-million-dollar territory.
  • Thorough understanding of ASTM specifications.
  • Working knowledge of required software programs (Microsoft Office, CRM, and ERP).
  • Effective training and presentation skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • High sales aptitude, self-motivated.
  • Ability to analyze situations and identify opportunities for success.
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective team interaction skills with high aptitude for collaboration with colleagues.

  • Work independently, with little supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office-based work, customer visits, and construction site visits.
  • Exposure to outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Travel required: typically regional, within state of assigned territory.
  • Typical work schedule: This role routinely operates outside a traditional Monday–Friday daytime schedule. Evenings, weekends, and overnight travel are frequently required to support customer events, relationship building activities, and industry trade shows.

  • Ability to handle samples and products up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, or handling materials/equipment.

  • Ability to concentrate, follow detailed instructions, communicate effectively, and safely perform job duties.
  • May require the operation of specific tools, equipment, or vehicles associated with the position.
