About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Drafting Assistant to support a growing business operating across interior design, general contracting and millwork.

Our client is an experienced architect who runs multiple businesses and is looking for additional drafting support to manage a growing volume of interior design and millwork projects.

This role will focus specifically on interior architectural drafting. Working from the client's initial

specifications, dimensions, appliance details and design information, you will be responsible for

producing accurate first-pass drawings in CAD for review and feedback.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable drafter who can work independently,

follow direction and deliver high-quality drawings to support an established architect.

The position will initially be part-time, with approximately 20 hours per week. A schedule built

around dedicated working days is preferred, allowing drawings to be completed in focused

batches and revisions to be made following review.

Key Responsibilities

• Interior Architectural Drafting: Produce accurate CAD drawings for interior design and millwork projects.
• Technical Drawings: Translate initial specifications, dimensions, appliance details and other project information into clear, accurate architectural drawings.
• First-Pass Drafting: Develop initial drawings based on the architect's direction and supplied project information.
• Revisions and Amendments: Update drawings in response to feedback, ensuring all requested changes are incorporated accurately.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure drawings are precise, consistent and aligned with the

specifications provided.

• Project Coordination: Manage assigned drafting work efficiently, ensuring drawings are completed within agreed timeframes.
• Communication: Liaise with the architect to clarify specifications, discuss revisions and ensure the final drawings meet project requirements

Requirements

• Previous experience in architectural drafting or a similar technical drawing role.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software.
• Experience producing architectural drawings for interior projects.
• Good understanding of architectural dimensions, specifications and technical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to interpret project briefs and translate them into accurate drawings.
• Ability to work independently while following direction and incorporating feedback.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet agreed deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to ask questions when clarification is

needed.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technically proficient and detail-oriented architectural drafter who can take an architect's initial concepts, specifications and measurements and turn them into accurate, professional CAD drawings.

They should be comfortable working independently, managing their workload and making revisions based on feedback. Experience with interior design and millwork-related projects would be particularly relevant.

This role is focused on interior drafting rather than external architectural design, and would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture and can reliably turn design information into high-quality drawings.
