Job Description

Architectural BIM Technologist
Relocation Opportunity to the Okanagan
Commercial, Multifamily, Institutional & Community Projects
Salary: $80,000 to $95,000+ depending on experience
Strong Revit. Diverse Projects. An Okanagan Lifestyle You'll Love.

About the Firm

Our client is an established architectural practice based in BC's Okanagan region with a strong reputation for thoughtful, community focused architecture across commercial, multifamily, institutional, civic, educational and mixed use projects.

The firm has a strong pipeline of work and an amazing, positive and supportive team. Their collaborative approach gives people the opportunity to work across different project types and phases while continuing to develop both their technical and BIM expertise.

Why Consider the Okanagan?

If you're currently living in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland and have considered making a move to the Interior, this is an opportunity to do it without putting your career on hold.

Trade long commutes and city congestion for lakes, mountains, skiing, hiking, golf and year round outdoor recreation, while continuing to work on meaningful architectural projects.

For someone looking for more space, stronger work life balance and a different pace of life while continuing to grow professionally, the Okanagan has a lot to offer.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist & BIM Specialist with 5+ years of post graduation experience to join their growing team.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly proficient in Revit and enjoys both the technical and BIM sides of architectural project delivery.

You will work across projects from Design Development through Construction, producing and coordinating documentation, developing Revit models, supporting BIM workflows and collaborating closely with architects, technologists and multidisciplinary consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and coordinate Design Development and Construction Documents.
  • Develop accurate architectural models and drawing packages in Revit.
  • Support BIM standards, workflows and model coordination.
  • Coordinate architectural models with multidisciplinary consultants.
  • Prepare permit, tender and construction packages.
  • Assist with technical detailing and building code requirements.
  • Participate in drawing reviews and QA/QC.
  • Support projects during Contract Administration.
  • Troubleshoot Revit and BIM related project challenges.
  • Collaborate with project teams throughout all phases of delivery.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or related architectural education.
  • 5+ years of post graduation experience within an architectural practice.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit.
  • Strong understanding of BIM workflows and model coordination.
  • Excellent Design Development and Construction Documentation experience.
  • Strong architectural detailing and technical skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants.
  • Experience across commercial, multifamily, institutional or community projects.
  • Knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Open to relocating from Vancouver or the Lower Mainland to BC's Okanagan region.

What's On Offer

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Full time, permanent position.
  • Diverse projects across multiple sectors.
  • Exposure throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Opportunity to expand your BIM and technical expertise.
  • Positive, supportive and collaborative team.
  • Professional development and long term career growth.
  • Excellent work life balance.
  • Opportunity to build your career while enjoying the Okanagan lifestyle.

If you're a strong Architectural Technologist with advanced Revit and BIM capabilities and have been considering a move from Vancouver or the Lower Mainland to the Okanagan, I'd love to connect.
