This role is part of a larger enterprise architecture and technology delivery team focused on designing and implementing solutions that address critical business needs and opportunities. The position is responsible for translating business requirements into practical, scalable technical architectures, spanning application, integration, data, and infrastructure domains, while ensuring non‑functional requirements such as supportability, resiliency, performance, and security are met.
The role requires a balance of strategic architectural thinking and hands‑on technical execution, with direct involvement in design, deployment, and operational support.
What You'll Do:
Essential Job Functions & Tasks
Architecture & Solution Design
Translate specific business requirements into end‑to‑endtechnical solution architectures, including:
Application architecture
Integration architecture
Data architecture
Non‑functionalrequirements (availability, resiliency, security, maintainability)
Develop and apply architecture patterns and technology standardsaligned to enterprise strategy, including:
Application and integration patterns
Data center and platform architecture
Computing paradigms and technology ecosystems
Provide architecture services supporting both current‑stateoptimization andfuture‑stateplanning
ServiceNow Platform & CMDB Architecture
Serve as a senior architecture resource supporting AEP’s on‑premiseServiceNow platform and CMDB
Perform platform and solution architecture activities, including:
Estimation and planning
Technical design and development guidance
Requirements definition and design reviews
Integration architecture with external platforms and systems
Ensure ServiceNow solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, operational models, and downstream dependencies.
Systems Engineering & Technical Execution
Providehands‑onsystems engineering, troubleshooting, and operational supportacross the ServiceNow ecosystem and supporting platforms, including:
Tomcat application servers
Java application stacks (JSWs, JVMs)
Oracle databases
MID servers
Support and troubleshoot across required operating environments:
Linux
Windows
AIX
Partner closely with infrastructure, application, database, and security teams to diagnose and resolve complex platform and performance issues.

Work Experience requirement listed below:
6 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
