Architect or Technologist
Multifamily Wood Frame and Institutional Projects
Construction Leadership. Contract Administration. Technical Delivery.
Salary Range: $80,000 to $110,000+ based on experience
About the Firm
This Vancouver based architectural practice is recognized for delivering meaningful public, institutional, and residential work with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and long term project performance. The studio works across multifamily wood frame housing, institutional renovations and new build projects throughout British Columbia, bringing a highly collaborative and practical approach to project delivery. With a stable project pipeline and a reputation built on trusted client relationships and quality execution, the team values professionals who enjoy working closely with consultants, contractors, and clients to bring projects successfully through construction.
Why Join This Team?
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Architect or Senior Technologist who enjoys the construction side of architecture and wants to play a key role in project delivery. Rather than being heavily focused on front end design, this position places you at the centre of construction administration, technical coordination, and problem solving during active projects. You will work alongside a collaborative and highly experienced team, contributing meaningful expertise while gaining exposure to a diverse mix of multifamily and institutional work.
About the Role
Our client is seeking an Architect or Technologist with 8+ years of post graduate experience to support the successful delivery of multifamily wood frame and institutional renovation projects, along with select new build work. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in contract administration and comfortable navigating the construction phase with confidence, professionalism, and technical strength.
This role is heavily focused on construction administration, consultant coordination, and field involvement, requiring someone who enjoys working closely with contractors and resolving issues in real time to keep projects moving forward successfully.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support projects through construction administration and active construction phases
• Conduct regular site reviews and prepare site reports and field documentation
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, supplemental instructions, and contract administration processes
• Coordinate closely with contractors, consultants, and internal project teams to resolve technical and construction related issues
• Review and monitor construction progress to ensure alignment with drawings, specifications, and design intent
• Support construction documentation and technical coordination efforts as required
• Participate in consultant coordination meetings and project delivery discussions
• Assist with quality control and technical review of drawing packages and project documentation
• Contribute to both renovation and new build projects across multifamily and institutional sectors
• Mentor and support intermediate and junior staff where appropriate
Qualifications
• 8+ years of post graduate experience within architectural practice
• Strong experience in construction administration and construction phase services
• Proven experience working on multifamily mid rise wood frame projects, particularly 4 to 6 storey developments, and/or institutional renovation projects
• Experience supporting or leading projects through active construction and field coordination
• Strong understanding of BCBC, construction detailing, and consultant coordination
• Proficiency in Revit and technical documentation workflows
• Registration with AIBC is considered an asset but is not mandatory
• Strong communication and relationship management skills with contractors, consultants, and project teams
• Practical, collaborative, and solutions oriented approach to project delivery
• Comfortable working within a team focused, technically driven environment
What’s On Offer
• Competitive salary based on experience
• Extended health and dental benefits
• Stable and diverse project pipeline
• Meaningful involvement in active projects and construction delivery
• Collaborative studio culture with experienced leadership and mentorship
• Long term career growth within a technically strong and respected practice
• Opportunity to work on impactful housing and institutional projects across British Columbia
