Lead the Future of Design at Buchan

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Architect to deliver market leading luxury multi-residential projects. You’ll work across diverse development types,scales, and all project stages, within a highly collaborative and design-focused environment. Partner with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional design outcomes, maintain the financial health of projects, ensure quality documentation, and foster team collaboration and communication.

This role offers the chance to lead cross-functional design disciplines, develop innovative technical solutions, and contribute to projects that define the future of our built environment—always guided by Buchan’s commitment to design integrity, sustainability, and creating places with meaning.

What You’ll Bring

• Australian architectural registration, preferably in VIC.
• 5-10 years’ experience in the local market (Melbourne/Australia).
• Proven track record in the multi-residential sector within VIC.
• Experience with Development applications, SSDA and Apartment Design Guidelines.
• In-depth knowledge of BCA, Australian Standards, and Council requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit
• Skills in creating accurate, parametric Revit families to support projects where required.
• Understanding of Sketchup, Enscape and Adobe Suite.
• Strong understanding of project development and construction processes.
• A passion for design excellence and enthusiasm to learn and grow within a collaborative team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to inspire collaboration between clients and project teams as a trusted point of contact.
• Leadership skills to motivate and guide teams toward successful outcomes.
