As an Architect III at JPMorgan Chase within the Data Technology Control Governance function in ICB, you will be responsible for overseeing and promoting the implementation, quality, and consistency of data technology controls across ICB.

The Data Technology Control Governance function is responsible for overseeing and driving the implementation, quality, and consistency of data technology controls across ICB. This role collaborates with firmwide and cross-LOB teams, supports Application Owners (AOs), and ensures that data governance standards are met across key tools and platforms. The function also serves as a central point for sharing best practices, escalating issues, and facilitating ongoing improvement in data control processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Firmwide Forums: Represent ICB in firmwide forums, contributing to discussions and sharing insights on data technology controls.
  • Engage with Cross-LOB Teams: Collaborate with teams across the firm and different lines of business to share and promote best practices in data technology control governance.
  • Oversee Data Governance Across Tools: Ensure effective data governance across platforms such as JADE, SEAL, Harmony, etc., for Application Owners (AOs), Information Owners (IOs), and Data Owners (DOs). This includes verifying correct implementation and ensuring information is accurately updated.
  • Collaborate with Data Architecture: Work closely with Data Architecture teams to align on overall architecture and data requirements, ensuring controls are integrated into design and implementation.
  • Influence Application Owners: Drive adoption of data technology controls by influencing and supporting Application Owners, helping them understand and execute their responsibilities.
  • Develop and Share Best Practices: Create and distribute best practices, runbooks, and knowledge resources to support AO execution and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Quality and Consistency: Monitor and enforce quality and consistency of data technology controls in line with firmwide guidance and standards.
  • Escalate Issues and Gaps: Proactively identify and escalate issues or gaps in data technology controls on behalf of ICB to ensure timely resolution.
  • Facilitate Monthly Forums: Organize and lead monthly forums to review progress, share updates, and address challenges related to data technology control governance.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, technology controls, or related fields within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, technology controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with data management tools and platforms (e.g., JADE, SEAL, Harmony).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and share best practices, runbooks, and training materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to influence and support Application Owners and other stakeholders in adopting controls and standards.
  • Experience facilitating forums, workshops, or cross-functional meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with data architecture concepts and collaboration with architecture teams.
  • Data governance or technology control certifications (e.g., DAMA, CDMP, CISA).
  • Experience with process improvement and change management initiatives.
