This role will form an integral part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) – Arcadis centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. Our GEC is made up of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across Romania, India and Philippines, providing Capability, Capacity and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.

Arcadis’ Romania office is seeking an experienced Architect to join our dynamic Retail team, contributing to a portfolio of high-profile, detail-driven projects for one of our major global luxury retail clients. In this role, you will support the architectural design and technical development of projects, ensuring design intent is translated into high-quality, coordinated, and buildable solutions.

Role accountabilities:

  • Embrace and demonstrate the Arcadis behavioral framework in your day-to-day work.

  • Be a key contributor to project success by completing assigned tasks on time, within budget, and in line with quality goals – while always aiming to exceed client expectations.
  • Duties may include, but are not limited to electronic or manual drafting, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations, report writing, constructing models, performing calculations, basic analysis, mapping, rendering, and assembling image boards.
  • Take ownership of your work by reviewing it carefully to ensure it meets the required standards before it’s shared with others.
  • Bring a strong technical mindset to the role – this is at the heart of what makes you effective and valuable.
  • Collaborate closely with Retail colleagues from the US Offices. As we adopt a One Team approach, clear and consistent communication is essential to maintaining the quality and integrity of our project outcomes.
  • Support project rollouts with flexibility and adaptability. Be prepared to work on multiple projects and switch between them efficiently as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architecture, with advanced experience in technical design and construction documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate across multiple disciplines.
  • Advanced experience in drafting and understanding of technical construction details.
  • Ability to work with a degree of independence, exercising sound judgment in the execution of project tasks, planning and coordination activities.
  • Retail and/or Commercial project experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with US design and construction codes is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows is required. Hands-on Revit project experience is essential.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Dynamo is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and spoken English is essential.
  • Open-mindedness and enthusiasm for contributing to the team’s digital initiative and process automation efforts.
