As an Architect, you will play a central role in shaping Saab’s future digital platform landscape and cloud strategy. You will drive architecture across mission-critical environments spanning cloud, hybrid, edge, and disconnected operational domains, ensuring that Saab’s platforms are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with long-term operational needs.

You will work closely with engineering teams, tech leads, security specialists, product owners, and operational stakeholders to define architecture principles, guide strategic technology decisions, and establish modern platform foundations enabling next-generation defense capabilities.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Defining and driving architecture for cloud-native and mission-critical platform environments
• Leading architectural decisions across cloud, hybrid, edge, and disconnected operational infrastructures
• Designing secure, scalable, and resilient Kubernetes-based platforms and digital ecosystems
• Establishing architectural principles, standards, and reusable platform patterns • Collaborating with engineering teams to align implementation with architectural vision and operational requirements
• Driving modernization initiatives across infrastructure, automation, software delivery, and platform engineering
• Supporting long-term technology strategy and roadmap development within cloud and digital platforms
• Ensuring architecture aligns with security, compliance, operational resilience, and maintainability requirements
• Evaluating emerging technologies and identifying opportunities within cloud, AI, automation, edge computing, and resilient infrastructure
• Contributing to platform governance, technical direction, and strategic capability development across Saab

You will be part of the Container & Cloud Platforms section within Common Tech – a specialized organization responsible for enabling modern digital platforms, cloud capabilities, and strategic technology transformation across Saab.

Your profile

You are a senior architect or technology leader with extensive experience in cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, and modern infrastructure architectures. You are comfortable operating both strategically and technically, and you enjoy translating complex operational requirements into scalable and resilient technical solutions.

You thrive in environments where security, operational reliability, and long-term thinking are essential, and you are motivated by enabling engineering organizations to move faster through strong architectural foundations and modern platform capabilities.

You understand how to balance:

Required skills and experience:

• Strong experience designing cloud-native architectures and distributed platform environments
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and modern platform engineering principles
• Experience architecting solutions across public cloud, hybrid cloud, and edge environments
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation frameworks
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong understanding of security architecture, Zero Trust principles, and resilient infrastructure design
• Experience driving technical strategy and architectural governance in large-scale environments
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
  

Additional valuable experience:

• Experience from defense, aerospace, telecom, industrial, or other mission-critical industries
• Experience with disconnected, degraded, or tactical operational environments
• Knowledge of software factories, Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), or developer enablement ecosystems
• Experience with observability, monitoring, networking, and infrastructure resilience
• Experience driving enterprise modernization and platform transformation initiatives
• Understanding of operational technology (OT), edge computing, or AI-enabled platforms
• Experience working within highly regulated or security-sensitive organizations
