Your Role

As a Gensler Project Architect, you will collaborate with a team of architects and designers to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction administration phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 3D models and construction drawings and can research technical issues when they arise. Based in the Cities studio of our Seattle office, you will join a team serving clients in Critical Facilities, Aviation, Commercial Development, Research & Laboratory Space, Higher Education and Corporate Headquarters. What You Will Do

  • Participate in all phases of design
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Manage project team and coordination of consultants
  • Take ownership of financial cycles by managing client follow-up, calendars, deadlines, meetings
  • Oversight of innovative design strategies and unique brand concepts on multiple projects
  • Work on new business proposals/presentations
  • Write and edit project communications for project teams such as scope and fee documents, meeting minutes, work plans, budgets and schedules
  • Understand key aspects of studio business and proactively develop ways to create better client engagements, people-centric approaches, and project efficiencies
  • Produce BIM models and construction drawings
  • Resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative, technical and constructible solutions
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Effective communicator, collaborative and team-conscious
  • Provide Mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school
  • Licensure required
  • 1 0+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design
  • Experience within Critical Facilities preferred
  • Strong experience working with Revit and Rhino
  • Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
  • Experience working directly with contractors
  • Experience resolving complex technical and design issues
  • Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions
  • Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required. Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk to this in their interview, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwell and /or Net Zero Building certification.

*The base salary range will be estimated between $111,000 - $133,000, plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
