Mainframe DevOps Engineer – Skills Requirement
Must-Have Skills (in order of priority):
1. IBM DBB Expertise & Mainframe Build Process Knowledge
o Strong hands-on experience with IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB).
o Deep understanding of mainframe build processes, including compilation, linking, and
deployment workflows.
o Hands-on experience with the setup and usage of the IBM z/OS core collection and Ansible.
Experience using Ansible playbooks to run mainframe jobs.
o Strong track record in migrating legacy source code to Git repositories and setting up CI/CD
pipelines
o In depth knowledge of Deployment tools like IBM Wazi, UCD
2. IBM DevOps Pipeline Setup
o Proven ability to design and implement DevOps pipelines for mainframe environments.
o Experience integrating mainframe with modern DevOps toolchains, specifically:
 Source Control: GitHub (or equivalent)
 CI/CD: Jenkins (or similar automation servers)
 Repository Management: Familiarity with repository management solutions (e.g.,
Artifactory, Nexus).

Nice-to-Have / Additional Skills:
3. Scripting and Automation
o Proficiency in scripting languages, preferably Python, for automation and tooling.
o Ability to develop scripts to support build, deployment, and integration tasks.
