The Tooling Specialist is responsible for the tooling set-up, set-up dies, bearings, and gears for the operation of pilger mills. Installs roll shafts in pilger mills with precision alignment. Lockout/tagout. Trouble-shoots poor quality at pilger mills. Inspects tools for wear or damage. Organizes, cleans, and maintains tooling inventory.
Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspection prior to operating equipment. Retrieve dies and mandrels from racks using overhead cranes. Operate hand grinder to make changes to dies and operate lathe to make changes to mandrels.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be able to demonstrate ability to read an OD and Wall micrometer (must pass with a minimum score of 80%);
Must be able to read a tape measure (must pass test with a minimum score of 80%);
Must be able to perform basic mathematics (must pass test with a minimum score of 80%);
Close, distant and peripheral vision required;
Must be detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret blue prints;
Manual machining skills;
Basic computer operation skills;
Inventory management;
Basic knowledge of pilger mill operation
