Join our Accounting, Reporting & Control team and advance your career as an ARC SME!
The purpose of the role is to ensure that period end close activities are completed in an effective and efficient manner across the relevant bp companies, that standard processes are adhered to and to drive a continuous improvement agenda.
In this role You will:
Lead and drive the Financial close standardization
Own and maintain stakeholder management for Period End close
Own the standard close timetable
Plan and implement modernization and transformation agenda as it relates with PEC
Coordinate the Period End close activities including:
Reinforce close schedule with key timings and related accountabilities for the key steps in the close processes
Chair all PEC related meetings and champion the standard process
Own delivery of resolution for issues and exceptions
Manage and own the PEC reporting suite and preparation of targets to drive step change in performance
Act as a point of engagement with the PEC project
Participate in global transformation initiative related to or impacting PEC
Prepare for and chair the monthly governance meeting encompassing:
Full understanding and preparation of new CI initiatives including preparing cases
Update on existing CI initiatives
Facilitate discussion and progress on resolution of issues and exceptions
Ensure 100% accuracy and timeliness of closing in accordance to agreed service level
High level of familiarity with the financial processes used in order to effectively engage with subject matter experts and financial close teams
Build and maintain good working relationships with key partners of varying levels of seniority.
Communicate effectively with teams across the globe.
What You will need to be successful:
Recognised national or international professional accountancy qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA. or working towards this.
Absolute fluency in business English
Strong understanding of how BP’s Financial control & Accounting processes and systems operate including key collaboration with other Corporate & Functions departments and with FBT
Extensive experience of reporting and MI processes (actuals, RF & plan)
Proven track record in controls, compliance & risk management in a multi-national environment
Proven track record demonstrating ability to interact with and influence people at all levels within the organisation, building strong relationships quickly
A strong understanding of IT&S infrastructure (preferably SAP)
Looks for ways to do things better, faster and more efficiently, and drive continuous improvement methodology
