Ready to step into a leadership role where you can still stay hands-on? Join Active Tree Services as a Team Leader on our long-term City of Sydney contract, supporting the delivery of day-to-day tree maintenance works across the city.

This is a practical, on-the-ground role where you’ll lead and support a tree crew while helping coordinate pruning, tree maintenance and removal works across some of Sydney’s most recognisable parks, streets and public spaces.

The Role:

As a Team Leader, you’ll help coordinate and deliver day-to-day tree maintenance, pruning and removal works while supporting the crew on site in a hands-on working leader role.

You’ll be involved in daily planning, job preparation, site setup and allocation of tasks, helping make sure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Your work will include:

• Leading and supporting your crew on site in a hands-on working leader role
• Coordinating daily tree maintenance activities across the City of Sydney contract
• Supporting pruning, tree maintenance and tree removal works
• Assisting with planning, job preparation, site setup and allocation of daily tasks
• Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to required quality standards
• Communicating clearly with crew members, supervisors and operations leaders
• Helping manage equipment, vehicles, materials and site requirements each day
• Driving a strong focus on safety, productivity, teamwork and customer outcomes

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience in arboriculture, tree maintenance, vegetation management or a similar field-based role
• Experience leading or mentoring others (formal or informal leadership)
• Strong understanding of site safety and quality standards
• Ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate daily works
• Current driver’s licence ( MR/HR highly regarded)
• White Card
• Strong communication and team leadership skills

Great, but not essential:

• Relevant arboriculture, chainsaw, EWP or plant operation tickets
• Previous exposure to local council or streetscape projects
• First Aid / CPR
