Job Description

At Avove Utilities, we’re proud to partner with the NorthernPower Grid (NPG) on essential infrastructure projects that power homes and businesses across the UK. Our work supports the upgrade and maintenance of the national electricity network, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable energy delivery.
We are seeking skilled and motivated Arborists to join our professional team. If you're looking for stability, progression, and the opportunity to work on a high-profile energy infrastructure project, this is your chance.
What will your day look like…
• Undertaking practical Arboriculture tasks contributing to an efficient combined voltage programme of tree clearance, within prescribed timescales.
• Climbing, pruning and site tidy up in line with BS3998 2010 and completion of data records.
• Adhering to all relevant legislation pertaining to tree management in relation to power line clearance, including Tree Preservation Orders,
• Conservation Area restrictions and European Protected Species.
• Landowner management including adhering to the agreed access and egress routes, work prescription as detailed on the work pack and maintaining a good communication with landowners when on the work site.

• Desirable Utility Arb NPTC Qualifications
0039-20 to 23: Chainsaw Maintenance, Small Tree Felling, Climb Trees & Perform Aerial Rescue, Chainsaw from a Rope & Harness. 0020-61: Woodchipper
• Further desirable Utility Arb NPTC Qualifications
0039-31 to 38: Aerial Pruning & Rigging, Medium & Large Tree Felling, Individual & Multiple Windblown, Chainsaw from a MEWP & 0038-35 MEWP Working. 301 Utility Arb Basic Electrical Knowledge,
• Emergency First Aid at Work & Forestry First Aid
Typical Utility Arb NPTC Progression Training upon Recruitment
302 to 305: Tree Species Recognition, Ground & Aeriel Pruning, Assisted Fell and Pole Top Rescue
