As an Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) / Video Remote Interpreter (VRI) at Future Group Translation and Localization Services, you will facilitate clear communication between English and non-English speakers across various industries, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism during all calls.
As an OPI/VRI Interpreter, you will provide real-time interpretation services in different sectors, with a primary focus on healthcare and medical fields. You will be responsible for delivering accurate, complete, and culturally sensitive interpretations, adhering to professional standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Answer calls professionally and follow the Interpreter’s code of conduct.
- Accurately interpret messages in both English and Arabic without adding, omitting, or altering the content.
- Maintain confidentiality and provide exceptional customer service during each call.
- Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and clients.
- Keep up-to-date with industry-specific terminology, particularly in healthcare and medical settings.
- Participate in internal training and pursue relevant certifications to enhance professional expertise.
- Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting when applicable.
- Report directly to your team leader and comply with company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:- Fluent in English and a native speaker of Arabic.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) with a reputable company.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology (knowledge of legal terminology is a plus).
- Certifications in healthcare industry standards (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and high-level communication skills.
- Excellent listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
Technical Requirements:- Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum download speed: 10 Mbps; minimum upload speed: 5 Mbps).
- Wired internet connection (Ethernet required; Wi-Fi is not permitted).
- Minimum Windows 10 operating system, with a dual-core processor (Intel Core i5 or superior).
- 8 GB RAM or higher.
- Single device (computer or laptop) with a dedicated power source (no mobile phones, tablets, or Chromebooks).
- Noise-canceling, wired headset with built-in microphone (Bluetooth/wireless headsets are not permitted).
