Role Overview:


International Community Schools (ICS) Al Danah, a prestigious British curriculum school in Abu Dhabi, is actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Arabic Teacher A for our Cycle 1 students (typically Years 1-3/4). The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering an engaging and high-quality Arabic language education, aligning with the National Curriculum for England and adhering to all Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) standards. This position requires a commitment to fostering a vibrant learning environment where young learners can develop a strong foundation in Arabic language and culture.

Key Requirements:


  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education (with a specialization in Arabic), or a directly related field from a recognized university.

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or equivalent) is highly desirable and strongly preferred.

  • Possession of an ADEK Teacher License or eligibility to obtain one upon employment.

  • Excellent command of both spoken and written Arabic (native speaker proficiency preferred).

  • Proficiency in English to facilitate effective communication within the international school environment.

  • Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of full-time teaching experience as an Arabic Language Teacher, specifically within the primary phase (Cycle 1 / Key Stage 1) in a British curriculum school setting.

  • Demonstrable experience in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in accordance with the National Curriculum for England.

  • Proven track record of success in supporting early primary students' language acquisition and development.

  • Experience working in a diverse, multicultural international school environment is a significant advantage.

  • Skills Required:

  • Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in age-appropriate pedagogical approaches for teaching Arabic to young learners.

  • Proficiency in integrating educational technology (e.g., interactive whiteboards, learning platforms, apps) to enhance language instruction.

  • Exceptional classroom management skills, fostering a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning atmosphere.

  • Strong assessment, tracking, and reporting skills to monitor and communicate student progress effectively.

  • Curriculum Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of planning, delivering, and assessing the Arabic language curriculum strictly within the framework of the
    National Curriculum for England (British Curriculum)

    for Cycle 1 (Key Stage 1 / early primary years).

  • Clear understanding of learning objectives, progression, and attainment targets for Arabic as a First Language and/or Arabic as an Additional Language, relevant to the British curriculum.

  • Familiarity with British curriculum assessment methodologies, reporting cycles, and safeguarding policies.

  • UAE-Specific Requirements:

  • Full compliance with the regulations and standards established by the
    Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK)

    for private schools.

  • Successful completion of all ADEK licensing and approval procedures, including security checks and attestation of academic qualifications from the relevant UAE authorities.

  • Understanding and adherence to UAE cultural sensitivities, local educational guidelines, and school policies.

  • Ability to successfully process and obtain all necessary work permits and residency visas in accordance with UAE labour laws.
