Join our Aquatics Team and play a vital role in promoting water safety, teaching lifesaving swim skills, and delivering high-quality aquatic programs for individuals and families of all ages. In this dynamic, full-time role, you’ll provide lifeguard coverage, lead private and group swim lessons, and help create a safe, welcoming environment during our afternoon and evening operations.
💧 What You’ll Do
- Provide lifeguard coverage to ensure a safe aquatic environment
- Lead engaging private and group swim lessons using the YMCA’s nationally recognized curriculum
- Support aquatic programming for infants, youth, teens, and adults
- Assess participant skill levels and adapt instruction to support individual progress
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment during closing shifts
- Build positive relationships with members and families while promoting water safety and confidence
✅ We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Current Swim Instructor and/or Lifeguard certification (or ability to obtain)
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- A passion for teaching and helping others succeed
- Experience working with diverse age groups in instructional or educational settings
- The ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and abilities
- A commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive aquatic environment

Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Aquatics certifications are preferred but not required, training may be provided
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to obtain the Lifeguard Instructor certification and Swim Instructor certifications within 90 days.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Must be physically and mentally capable of demonstrating the skills required for certifications
- Must be able to be exposed to chlorine and other pool chemicals
- Must be able to be exposed to pool water for up to 20 hours per week
- Physically and mentally acts appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstances
