<br>Responsible for overseeing daily operations of the aquatics program, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for patients and participants. Coordinates and leads aquatic activities, supervises lifeguards and staff, and ensures compliance with safety and health regulations.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Monitors the safety and cleanliness of the pool area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. <br>
-Coordinates and leads therapeutic and fitness aquatic programs for patients and other participants. <br>
-Supervises lifeguards and aquatic staff, providing guidance and scheduling. <br>
-Ensures all equipment is in proper working order and initiates maintenance when needed. <br>
-Manages pool schedules, coordinating with hospital departments and external groups. <br>
-Assists in developing and improving aquatic programs to meet the needs of patients and participants. <br>
-Maintains accurate records of pool usage, incidents, and staff certifications. <br>
-Conducts safety drills and provides ongoing training for staff in emergency response and lifeguarding. <br>

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Heartsaver CPR AED [CPR] - American Heart Association (AHA) required Lifeguarding [ARC] - American Red Cross required Certified Water Safety Instructor [WSI] - American Red Cross required

Experience
Experience in aquatics supervision or pool management 2-3 years required and Experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting 2-3 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing a team.
- Knowledge of aquatic safety standards and leading practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and participants.
- Ability to handle emergency situations and make quick, effective decisions.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules, staff, and program activities.
