Our Aquatics Coordinator assists with development, organization and implementation of our high quality YMCA aquatics programs. This position establishes a positive work environment, helps supervise a dedicated Aquatics team, and greets and interacts with with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Assists with the development, organization and implementation of high quality and safe aquatics programs.
  • Increases member retention through creating personalized member experiences and positive relationships with and among members, staff, and guests.
  • Regularly scheduled as a swim instructor and lifeguard. Performs responsibilities of respective position descriptions.
  • Trains, provides guidance to and directs Aquatics Department employees as needed.
  • Assists in ensuring shifts are covered adequately to meet member needs. Covers open shifts and ensures substitutions are filled.
  • Assists with coordination of pool, facility, program space and equipment use.
  • Performs required safety, cleanliness and maintenance check
  • Ensures the safety of all members and guests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Requires working nights and weekends.
  • One year related experience in administration, lifeguarding, swim instruction is required.
  • Requires ability to professionally and effectively communicate with members, staff and supervisors; maintain confidentiality and exchange accurate information.
  • Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator, Lifeguard Training Instructor, Safety Training for Swim Coaches preferred.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations and guidelines of USA Swimming is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, strong leadership and communication skills.
