This employee will be tasked with assisting the Aquatic Education Section with a variety of duties including:

• Fishing clinics, rodeos, Trout in the Classroom, SCDNR Youth Bass Tournament, Fishing Tackle Loaner Program and Black Bass Slam.
• Managing and maintaining equipment.
• Data collection and management (computer), including preparation of data for analysis.
• Educational materials and helping to assist in the coordination between Fisheries and Graphics.

Examples of duties

A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

Qualifications

Basic working knowledge of South Carolina freshwater fisheries, fish identification, sampling and protocols. Ability to work under potentially adverse weather conditions. Competent in computer word processing and data management programs such as PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft 365. Ability to work varying hours on weekday/weekends as well as various holidays. Ability to swim and feel comfortable in and around water in all weather conditions.
