About the Role

Please note: a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this position.

As a Recovery Practitioner, you’ll support individuals affected by alcohol and substance use, helping them understand what recovery means for them and supporting them to build the skills, confidence, relationships and opportunities they need to move forward.

But this role is about much more than one-to-one support.

Working across North Northamptonshire and its predominantly rural communities, you’ll play a key role in bringing recovery opportunities directly into local communities. You’ll develop groups, activities, events and projects that engage young people and help them connect, participate and thrive.

You’ll have the opportunity to take an idea and turn it into reality. You'll be identifying opportunities, developing projects, booking venues, bringing people together and facilitating activities. You’ll also build strong relationships with partner organisations and local networks to make sure people can access the right support in the right place.

Travel is an important part of the role, helping us bring recovery support to communities where access can otherwise be a challenge. You’ll need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role combining one-to-one support, group facilitation, project development, community engagement and partnership working.

What You’ll Do

• Support recovery: Provide person-centred one-to-one support, assessments and interventions, helping people define and achieve their recovery goals.
• Create opportunities: Develop and facilitate engaging groups, activities, events and projects that bring recovery into local communities.
• Make recovery accessible: Travel across rural North Northamptonshire to bring support and opportunities closer to where people live.
• Build connections: Develop strong partnerships with local organisations, professionals and community networks to improve outcomes and reach more people.
• Champion participation: Help young people have their voices heard, shaping activities and opportunities while contributing to a passionate, collaborative team.

To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need To:

• Be passionate about people: Have experience supporting people and a genuine commitment to helping young people achieve positive change.
• Be a confident facilitator: Enjoy working one-to-one and in groups, with the ability to engage, motivate and build trusting relationships.
• Be creative and organised: Have the skills to turn ideas into successful projects, activities and events, from planning through to delivery.
• Be a great networker: Communicate confidently and build positive relationships with partners, professionals and communities.
• Be flexible and community-focused: Be able to work independently, travel across rural locations and bring energy, initiative and a collaborative approach to the role. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.
