Job Shift: AnyBlue Valley Rec is a leader in recreation and dedicated to promoting health and well-being in our community. We offer a wide range of fitness programs and classes designed to cater to individuals of all ages and fitness levels. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Water Fitness Instructor to join our team and lead invigorating aquatic workouts that are both enjoyable and effective.
As a Water Fitness Instructor at Blue Valley Rec, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and passion for aquatic fitness while helping our patrons achieve their health and fitness goals. You will be responsible for designing and leading water-based exercise classes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants. Your role will involve providing instruction, guidance, and motivation, as well as monitoring participants' progress and adapting workouts to suit their individual needs. In addition to leading classes, you may also be involved in organizing special events, promoting the program, and assisting with member inquiries.
Develop and implement safe and effective water fitness programs for individuals and groups.
Lead engaging and energetic water fitness classes, including aqua aerobics, water resistance training, and other water-based workouts.
Provide clear and concise instruction, demonstrating proper techniques and modifications as needed.
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation and fosters a sense of community.
Monitor participants' progress, offer feedback and encouragement, and make necessary adjustments to exercises.
Maintain a clean and organized aquatic fitness area, ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition.
Stay up to date with current fitness trends and research related to water-based exercise and incorporate new ideas into classes.
Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Assist with member inquiries, provide excellent customer service, and promote our fitness programs and services.
Follows safety procedures and practices.
Work with minimal supervision during assigned class times
Maintain all equipment used during swim lessons
This is a part-time hourly position. Flexible Schedules available.QualificationsMinimum of 1 years of experience as a Water Fitness Instructor or a related role.
AEA, WaterArt, Arthritis Foundation Certificate or land based certification would be accepted.
Strong knowledge of aquatic exercise techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to modify exercises for various fitness levels.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with participants and provide clear instructions.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to motivate and inspire participants to achieve their fitness goals.
CPR and First Aid certification (current) is preferred.

Blue Valley Rec is a separate entity; the Board of Education certifies the Commission’s budget and appoints commissioners. The great partnership with the Blue Valley School District allows Blue Valley Rec to contain costs to patrons.
