About Risk Management Services (RMS):
Risk Management Services (RMS) is an internal function within EY GDS (Global Delivery services), responsible for protecting the organization from the risks that may arise from its professional practice. We work closely with all parts of the organization to identify and manage risks, providing coordinated advice and assistance on suite of services like Independence, Conflicts, Compliance, regulatory, policy and security issues as well as dealing with claims and queries regarding ethics. Formed in 2007, the RMS team is growing rapidly as a Center of Excellence for all standardized quality/compliance related activities.

The opportunity

The Supervising Associate within RMS-Independence team would be required to develop subject matter expertise in RMS process and policies. An individual should be able to continuously add value to assigned processes and develop solutions for situations that may not have been previously documented. Process transitions will be an important part of this profile and the candidate will be expected to spearhead & manage the entire transition life cycle including project scoping, documentation, execution, & improvement. Providing feedback to the team members and helping them to move the learning curve will be another aspect of this role.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Expertise:
• Conduct research using both systematic and intuitive secondary research techniques
• Study the research findings, draw inferences and conclusions in response to the research requirement
• Know key requirements of firm and regulators’ risk management rules and policies
• Uses analytical and project management methodology and tools
• Completes all assigned projects/tasks in line with the standard operating procedures
• Facilitates and drives the process to completion by following up on requests from Risk Management Consultants and assisting the client team
• Performs review of transactions received from client teams and evaluates completeness, accuracy and appropriateness of proposed transaction/requests.
• Flags issues/potential challenges to the managers at an appropriate time so that timely action can be initiated

Client Management:
• Introduction with the account teams and clients to get the information directly and moving upward in the decision-making matrix.
• Actively manage the client’s expectation through setting up a robust client management framework
• Responsible for addressing & resolving service delivery issues / escalations

People Management:
• Manages performance of team members-from setting goals to assessing performance against goals to providing performance feedback.
• Ensures adherence to work-flow protocol and tools
• Coordinates training schedules for new and existing members of the team
• Coaches and mentors team members for professional development and recommends training requirements to address perceived gaps

• Provides first point of contact for guidance to the team and only unanswered / new questions or queries are put to an onshore team
• Pledged for quality of output through internal review mechanisms
• Workflow allocation and ensuring delivery in agreed timelines
• Providing team members with performance feedback; helping counsellor in completing periodic performance reviews
• Manage day-to-day administrative issues and communicating appropriately to the customers / project manager at GDS
• Responsible for Achieving customer satisfaction measures / project critical success factors
• Demonstrated experience in independence/compliance operations, translating policy into operational controls, and handling complex/edge-case scenarios.
• Effective people leader and coach: provides structured feedback, builds learning paths, and drives team performance and engagement across locations/time zones.


To qualify for the role, you must have

• MBA/MCOM or equivalent post-graduate degree from a reputed institute
• Bachelor’s in Business, Accounting/Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 7-8 years of professional experience, out of which some experience should have:
o Compliance or research functions in Big 4 or other professional service organizations
o Managing reasonably mid-size teams
o Experience in Auditor Independence and pursuits [preferable, not mandatory]
• Operates with high professional skepticism and ethical standards.
• Makes balanced recommendations when documentation is incomplete; escalates appropriately.
• Candidates with exposure to handling international customers/client interaction would be preferred.
• Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills in English
• Proficient in MS Office
• Must be well versed with financial instruments used for investment purposes like Shares, Mutual Funds, Insurance etc.


Ideally, you’ll also have
• Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment
• Flexibility to work in rotational shifts


Technologies and Tools
• Experience in MS office suites like Microsoft 365, MS excel, PowerPoint
• Business analytics tool like Power-BI
• Gen-AI related
