Join our team as a Wage APS QA Reviewer and help strengthen the safety, independence, and well‑being of vulnerable adults across the Commonwealth through impactful quality assurance and statewide program support.

Job Duties:

APS/Adult Services is dedicated to improving employment outcomes, quality of life, security, and independence for older Virginians, Virginians with disabilities, and their families.

We are seeking an APS QA Reviewer (Wage) to provide quality assurance oversight to promote efficiency and accountability in program operations and service delivery that supports the safety and independence for customers in the Commonwealth.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing, analyzing, and conducting case reviews of APS/Adult Services (AS) cases throughout the state of Virginia for compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Writing and disseminating reports based on the results of the case reviews.
  • Monitoring and developing corrective action plans resulting from case reviews.
  • Providing technical assistance by responding to emails and calls from local departments of social services regarding APS/AS guidance and practice.

Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.

“This is a wage (part time) position that will work an average of 24-29 hours per week and cannot exceed 1500 hours during the employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement, or leave benefits.”

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of and experience with analysis and evaluation as it relates to program planning and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of state and local government operations, including Virginia’s “state supervised, locally administered” social service system.
  • Working knowledge of continuous quality improvement methods.
  • Working knowledge of federal reporting requirements for human services programs.

Skills

  • Oral and written communication skills, including writing program reports.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, draw conclusions, and develop and implement new initiatives, practices and procedures.

Ability to

  • Interpret, analyze, and monitor complex issues.
  • Research and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Plan, organize, and manage own time and work.
  • Develop (as needed) and occasionally deliver training to individuals with varying levels of program knowledge.

The position will need the flexibility to travel occasionally, including overnight.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience in human services, public administration, sociology, or related fields.
  • Experience evaluating programs, providing training and technical assistance, and writing reports about human service program issues.
  • Experience with aging, adult, long-term care services, and/or other social services/social welfare programs.
  • Previous experience within a local human service agency or state government agency.
