This position supports the Army Prepositioned Stocks – 4 (APS-4) Program, Multi-Role Bridge Company (MRBC) section, located at Camp Humphreys, Korea. The Maintenance QC Inspector will comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program.

The Maintenance QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting and validating all Care of Stock in Storage (COSIS) preventive maintenance, repair, and modification work performed on APS-4 Mobile Brigade Combat Team (MBCT) heavy wheeled vehicles, light wheeled vehicles, generators, and ground support equipment (GSE) systems at Camp Carroll, Korea. This role ensures that all maintenance and modification actions meet technical and quality standards established by the APS-4 program, applicable Army technical manuals, MWO guidance, and KBR’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

The QC Inspector works closely with management, the foreman, and technicians to enforce quality standards, identify and resolve discrepancies, and drive continuous improvement across MBCT maintenance operations. The position utilizes quality metrics, Six Sigma methodology, scheduled and unscheduled inspections, and the Corrective Action System to proactively manage quality across all heavy wheeled vehicle, light wheeled vehicle, and generator/GSE production activities supporting training exercises, and real-world contingency missions.

Please note: This position is located in Camp Carroll, Korea and is contingent on award.

Supported MBCT Equipment

The Maintenance QC Inspector performs inspections across MBCT equipment fielded to AFSBn-NEA, including but not limited to the following:

  • Heavy Wheeled Vehicles (HEMTT, PLS, FMTV/LMTV, 5-Ton and above)

  • Light Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV family, 2-1/2 ton and below)

  • Generators and Ground Support Equipment (GSE), 3kW-60kW skid- and trailer-mounted

  • Wreckers, truck tractors, and semitrailers

  • Trailers (cargo, flatbed, water, bolster, and generator-mounted)

  • Other GSE (shop sets, forklifts, HMEE, MICLIC, CROP)

  • Other MBCT equipment fielded to AFSBn-NEA

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and validate preventive maintenance, repair, and modification actions performed on APS-4 MBCT heavy wheeled vehicles, light wheeled vehicles, generators/GSE, and artillery systems.

  • Perform initial, random, and final inspections on equipment submitted for maintenance, repair, or Care of Stock in Storage (COSIS) validation.

  • Inspect quality in the conduct of work associated with Engineering Changes, MWOs, MAMs, and SOUMs applicable to MBCT vehicles, generators/GSE, and artillery systems.

  • Work closely with management, the foreman, and technicians to improve the quality process across Heavy Wheeled Vehicle, Light Wheeled Vehicle, and Generator/GSE operations.

  • Proactively discover, analyze, and resolve discrepancies, weak points, and bottlenecks within operations utilizing scheduled and unscheduled inspections, quality metrics, Six Sigma methodology, and ISO 9001:2015 QMS principles.

  • Ensure proper use of automated maintenance systems and the accurate completion of all maintenance documentation.

  • Ensure required plans, procedures, work instructions, and quality records are developed, maintained, and followed by operational personnel.

  • Maintain knowledge of the Corrective Action System and ensure all corrective actions are brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

  • Perform Equipment Condition and Operational Determination (ECOD) as requested.

  • Maintain a basic working knowledge of GCSS-Army and proficiency in current USG portals to obtain information required for the job.

  • Provide support for Key Leader Engagements (KLE), equipment issue and receiving for designated unit draws, and contingency operation draw exercises for training and real-world missions when tasked.

  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.

  • Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.

  • Ability to provide documentation to qualify as US EXPAT Invited Contractor Status and SOFA Visa IAW USFK 700-19 Regulation.

  • Favorable adjudication of an NACI background check.

  • High School diploma or GED plus seven years of directly related work experience in the maintenance, repair, and quality inspection of heavy wheeled, light wheeled, generator/GSE, or artillery equipment.

  • In lieu of formal coursework, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.

  • Ability to use automotive/mechanical maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and relevant technical and parts manuals.

  • Ability to work from technical manuals, work instructions, and work orders.

  • Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, including heat and humidity.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 35 pounds to shoulder height.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

  • Required to pass initial and periodic drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Certification from a vocational school or other recognized source such as a military service-related Advanced Individual Training with a focus in automotive and/or generator maintenance is preferred.

  • Successful completion of platform-specific training (e.g., HEMTT, PLS, HMMWV, or tactical generator systems) is preferred.

  • Prior experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role within a DoD ground equipment maintenance environment is preferred.

  • Prior experience supporting APS, PREPO, or other War Reserve materiel programs is preferred.
