Of Job Duties
The APRN/PA will extend the patient care and administrative services for the UAMS
Women and Infants Service Line (WISL) physicians in the outpatient settings. APRN/PA will be expected to provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments. The APRN/PA will also manage health issues for patients, independently or in collaboration with the designated physicians. The APRN/PA will work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient's health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate. The APRN/PA will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
Minimum Qualification:
Master’s Degree
Two (2) years nursing experience
Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN/CPN License, or PA with State Medical Board.
Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines).
Must have normal communication sensory requirement.
Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.
Preferred Qualifications :
Preferred nursing experience in endocrine or women’s health.
Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities:
Delivers prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women, including routine assessments, screenings, and management of complications.
Collaborates with maternal-fetal medicine specialists to care for patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and placental abnormalities.
Supports laboring patients, assist with deliveries, and respond to obstetric emergencies in the labor and delivery unit.
Conducts newborn assessments, manage common neonatal conditions, and collaborate with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team for more complex cases.
Provides education on breastfeeding, safe sleep practices, infant care, and postpartum mental health to families.
Engages in telehealth consultations to extend care to underserved populations, ensuring access to specialized services.
Collaborates with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and social workers to deliver holistic care to mothers and infants.
Engages in quality assurance and improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery processes.
Delivers care through mobile health units and community outreach programs, ensuring access to services for women in rural areas.
Contributes to clinical research and provide education to medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
May perform other duties assigned.
