The TOSH OR Pre-optimization Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with a physician and multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive preoperative medical evaluation and optimization for adult patients. The role focuses on detailed clinical assessments, risk identification, treatment planning, patient education, and coordinated multidisciplinary preparation to ensure patients are medically ready for surgery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing – Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) PLUS Two years of RN experience. One year of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.
Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; Arkansas APRN License, or eligible for licensure.
Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Four years of RN experience.
Two years of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.
Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained after hire.
Pre-optimization clinic experience.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
Work autonomously, as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
