
The Senior Associate is responsible for the weekly and monthly accounting tasks of the clients that have been assigned to the team.
Pull reports needed for monthly work from various websites as needed.
Verify and adjust system generated journal entries in accordance with client specific treatments.
Perform bank reconciliations for applicable clients, ensuring accounts are accurate, complete, and supported.
Assist in creating, updating, and optimizing bank rules to improve efficiency and accuracy of transaction coding.
Interpret payroll reports and record payroll entries in the accounting system, ensuring proper posting to salaries/labor, federal and state tax expenses, and withholding liability accounts.
Ensure all fixed assets are properly recorded, including correct useful life/terms, supporting documentation, and ongoing depreciation/amortization updates.
Manage all delivery-related transactions, including recording sales, chargebacks, delivery fees, marketing expenses, and applicable sales tax. Ensure completeness by capturing all outstanding amounts and fees using standardized templates.
Review balance sheet and profit & loss accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper classification of transactions.
Communicate key financial ratios and insights to clients, including sharing trends to support informed decision-making.
Ensure transmittals are completed and submitted by the 25th of each month. Validate that all required items are accurate, complete, and compliant with established standards.
Prepare short-term cash projections (5–20 days, depending on client needs) to proactively manage and anticipate cash requirements.
Assist in the preparation and filing of documents during the 1099 season, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
Proactively coordinate with reviewers, address issues as they arise, and ensure all client deliverables and needs are fully covered.
Perform self-review of work and utilize Excel formulas and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency in the review process.
Lead the preparation and maintenance of process documentation and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Provide guidance, review work, and mentor associates to support team development and maintain quality standards.
