Approved Electrician – Industrial Project

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

Pay Rate: £25–£27 per hour

Contract: Minimum 3 months

Job Description

We are currently recruiting an Approved Electrician for an industrial project based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. This is a minimum three-month contract, suited to an experienced electrician with a strong industrial background.

Candidates who are willing to travel and work away from home are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing electrical containment systems.
• Installing trunking and cable tray.
• Carrying out electrical terminations.
• Completing industrial electrical installation work.
• Following site health and safety procedures and maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Requirements

• Valid ECS Gold Card with Approved Electrician grading, or recognised equivalent.
• Relevant Level 3 electrical qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation) or an approved equivalent.
• Current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations qualification (18th Edition).
• Recognised Inspection and Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
• At least two years' experience working as a qualified electrician after completing the required training.
• Valid DBS check.
• Previous industrial electrical experience.
• Experience with containment, trunking, cable tray and electrical terminations.
• Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.

The Approved Electrician grade requires the relevant electrician qualifications, post-qualification experience and demonstrated inspection and testing competence.
