Approvals Advisor

Be the link between mining, community, and the environment

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Approvals Advisor to join our Environment, Approvals & Community team. Reporting to the Approvals & Community Superintendent, this role plays a critical part in supporting mining approvals, heritage obligations, and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate technical consultants, contribute to the preparation of approval documentation, and engage with stakeholders to ensure statutory and cultural obligations are met. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop or build on their experience in mining approvals, environmental regulation, and heritage management.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare, compile, and submit approval documentation within agreed timeframes, including ML, EA, PRCP, and ERC
  • Coordinate and review technical reports from consultants, ensuring alignment and quality control
  • Maintain tracking systems for approvals, permits, and compliance obligations
  • Support regulatory engagement and maintain relationships with regulators, Ravenswood community, landholders, Traditional Owners, and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with coordination of heritage surveys and compliance with Native Title agreements and RAP commitments
  • Support environmental compliance activities, including disturbance permits, audits, and reporting
  • Monitor compliance with non-Indigenous heritage obligations and statutory requirements
  • Identify and escalate approval and heritage risks

About You:

You are organised, analytical, and collaborative, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality outputs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline
  • Some experience or exposure to:

Mining approvals

Environmental regulation

Heritage management

  • Ability to review technical documentation and consultant reports critically
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
