Apprenticeships Business Development Manager

Salary: £38,000 – £42,000
Location: Remote (Travel to Derby once a month)

The Role

As Apprenticeships Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving apprenticeship sales growth across Digital, Technology, and Data programmes.

You will be responsible for developing new employer relationships, identifying workforce development opportunities, and delivering consultative apprenticeship solutions to businesses across a range of sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Winning new business and developing employer partnerships
  • Selling Digital, Technology, and Data apprenticeship programmes
  • Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to onboarding
  • Building strong relationships with levy and non-levy employers
  • Identifying client skills gaps and advising on apprenticeship solutions
  • Achieving and exceeding monthly sales and performance targets
  • Maintaining and developing a strong sales pipeline and CRM records
  • Working collaboratively with delivery and operational teams
  • Attending employer meetings, networking events, and sector engagement activities
  • Travelling to Derby once per month for team meetings and collaboration sessions

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who understands the apprenticeship landscape and is passionate about helping employers develop future digital talent.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in apprenticeship sales or business development within the education and training sector
  • Strong knowledge of Digital, Technology, and Data apprenticeship programmes
  • A successful track record in B2B sales and employer engagement
  • Experience working with levy-funded apprenticeship solutions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • A target-driven and commercially focused mindset
  • The ability to work independently and manage a busy sales pipeline
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills

Experience selling programmes such as Data Analyst, Digital Marketing, Cyber Security, IT Support, Software Development, AI, or Business Intelligence apprenticeships would be highly advantageous.

A willingness to travel to Derby once per month is essential.
