At our Berlin site, more than 1,800 employees develop and manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems.

During the Machine Milling Apprenticeship, you can expect an exciting combination of theory and practice. In our in-house training workshop, you will work with modern CNC milling machines and gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing of high-precision components used in advanced lithography systems. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will receive individual support and be well prepared for the start of your career in a future-oriented high-tech industry.

Role and responsibilities

As a machine milling apprentice, you will:

• read technical drawings and use them as the basis for manufacturing precision components.
• plan manufacturing orders and machine workpieces with a high degree of accuracy.
• set up, operate, and monitor computer-controlled milling machines.
• learn how to program CNC machines for different manufacturing processes.
• use modern measuring and testing equipment to verify the dimensions and quality of manufactured components.
• process materials such as metal, plastic, glass, and ceramics using machining techniques.
• combine theoretical learning with practical training in our in-house training workshop and manufacturing environment.

Education and experience

• Secondary school certificate, university of applied sciences entrance qualification, or general university entrance qualification
• Interest in mathematics, physics, manufacturing technology, or engineering
• Interest in working with computers, CNC milling machines, and modern manufacturing equipment
• Interest in learning machining, CNC programming, and precision manufacturing processes
• Professional proficiency in German, both spoken and written

Skills

Working in a highly precise manufacturing environment requires concentration, technical understanding, and reliable collaboration. To succeed in this apprenticeship, the following skills are important:

• Careful and precise way of working, especially when producing components with tight tolerances
• Interest in learning new technologies and continuously developing technical skills
• Ability to maintain focus and quality standards when working with modern CNC milling machines and manufacturing equipment

• Structured way of working when handling technical challenges and changing requirements
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, trainers, and fellow apprentices to achieve shared goals
• Flexibility and openness to learning different machining and manufacturing processes

Deine Aufgaben

Als Auszubildende:r zum:zur Zerspanungsmechaniker:in wirst du:

• technische Zeichnungen lesen und als Grundlage für die Fertigung von Präzisionsbauteilen nutzen.
• Fertigungsaufträge planen und Werkstücke mit hoher Genauigkeit bearbeiten.
• computergesteuerte Fräsmaschinen einrichten, bedienen und überwachen.
• die Programmierung von CNC-Maschinen für unterschiedliche Fertigungsverfahren erlernen.
• moderne Mess- und Prüfmittel einsetzen, um die Maße und Qualität gefertigter Bauteile zu kontrollieren.
• Werkstoffe wie Metall, Kunststoff, Glas und Keramik mit zerspanenden Verfahren bearbeiten.
• theoretisches Wissen mit der praktischen Ausbildung in unserer eigenen Ausbildungswerkstatt und im Fertigungsumfeld verbinden.

Deine Qualifikation

• Mittlerer Schulabschluss, Fachhochschulreife oder allgemeine Hochschulreife
• Mathematisches und technisches Grundverständnis
• Interesse an zerspanenden Verfahren, Fertigungstechnologien und Präzisionskomponenten
• Grundlegende Computerkenntnisse und Interesse an der Arbeit mit computergesteuerten Maschinen
• Gutes räumliches Vorstellungsvermögen und die Fähigkeit, technische Zusammenhänge zu verstehen
• Verhandlungssichere Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

Deine Kompetenzen

Die Arbeit in einem hochpräzisen Fertigungsumfeld erfordert Konzentration, technisches Verständnis und eine verlässliche Zusammenarbeit. Für eine erfolgreiche Ausbildung sind folgende Kompetenzen wichtig:
