The role

As an Apprenticeship and Skills Development Supervisor, you'll play a key role in developing future talent and strengthening workforce capability across our Land sector. This is an exciting opportunity to lead apprenticeship and skills development programmes that directly support operational excellence and long-term business success.

Day-to-day you'll be required to:

  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of apprenticeship and staff development programmes.
  • Support apprentices throughout their learning journey through coaching, mentoring, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate structured learning plans with training providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify skills gaps and implementing development initiatives to support workforce capability.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and apprenticeship standards while driving continuous improvement.

The role is based onsite at Bovington, and the set working times are Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday, 08:00 to 13:00, totalling 37 hours per week. Travel to our site at Lulworth will also be expected.

Essential Experience of the Apprenticeship and Skills Development Supervisor:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven planning, organisational, and time management abilities.
  • Experience supporting learning, development, training, or apprenticeship programmes.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate individuals to achieve their goals.

Qualifications for the Apprenticeship and Skills Development Supervisor:

  • Educated to Level 2 in the National Qualifications Framework (for example GCSE Grade 4/C or above, NVQ Level 1, or equivalent qualification).

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
