
The Apprentice Water Heater Installer is an entry-level, learn-the-trade role. The Apprentice works alongside a Senior Water Heater Technician every day, serving as the team’s driver and installation helper while building the hands-on skills needed to install water heaters independently. No prior plumbing experience is required. Castleworks provides the training, the tools, and a company work van.
? Safely operate the assigned company work van to and from customer homes, supply houses, and disposal sites, following all traffic laws and company fleet and safety policies.
? Complete daily vehicle inspections, keep the van clean and organized, and report maintenance needs or incidents promptly.
? Load, secure, and unload water heaters, materials, and tools.
? Assist the Senior Technician with removal, haul-away, and installation of tank and tankless water heaters.
? Help with connections, venting, seismic strapping, expansion tanks, and other code-required components under the Senior Technician’s direction.
? Move water heaters and equipment safely using dollies, hand trucks, and team-lift practices.
? Protect customer homes with floor coverings and leave every job site clean.
? Learn installation methods, plumbing and gas fundamentals, local code requirements, and safety practices through daily on-the-job training.
? Progressively take on more of the installation work as skills are demonstrated and approved by the Senior Technician and General Manager.
? Participate in company safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training.
? Represent Castleworks professionally and courteously in customers’ homes.
? Refer customer questions about pricing, options, or products to the Senior Technician. The Apprentice does not present pricing, negotiate, or sell home improvement contracts.
? Track time accurately and follow company processes for job documentation, photos, and paperwork.
? Perform other related duties as assigned.
? Valid California driver’s license in good standing pursuant to company policy.
? Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn and take direction.
? Ability to communicate clearly with teammates and customers.
? Experience in construction, plumbing, warehouse, delivery, or other hands-on work.
? Basic hand tool familiarity.
