About the Role

Start your career outdoors with Green by Nature as an Apprentice – Sport Turf Management / Greenkeeping and gain the skills, experience, and nationally recognised qualification needed to build a successful career in the horticulture and turf industry.

Based initially in Brendale, this four-year apprenticeship combines hands-on learning with formal training, allowing you to earn while you learn. Working alongside experienced mentors, you'll develop practical skills in turf maintenance, greenkeeping, grounds care, irrigation, and landscape presentation across a variety of sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high-quality green spaces, and is looking to build a long-term career with a growing industry leader.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you'll be well positioned to progress into roles such as Team Leader, Supervisor, or Site Manager.

What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain practical experience and develop skills in:

• Turf and lawn maintenance.
• Mowing, edging, trimming, and general grounds upkeep.
• Irrigation installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Weed, pest, and disease identification and control.
• Soil improvement and plant nutrition.
• Safe operation and maintenance of horticultural equipment and machinery.
• Garden and landscape presentation.
• Workplace health and safety practices.
• Teamwork, communication, and professional workplace skills.

About You

You may have little or no experience in the industry, but you're motivated to learn, enjoy working outdoors, and are ready to build a rewarding career.

Essential Requirements

• Current White Card, or willingness to obtain.
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC/Blue Card), or willingness to obtain.
• Australian Citizen, to satisfy apprenticeship and training requirements.

Desirable

• Current Driver Licence.
• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, or outdoor work.
• A genuine interest in horticulture, greenkeeping, or turf management.
