The Cardo Group are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Site Manager to join our team based in the Hyde (London) area.

This role will oversee and coordinate construction or maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards. This role involves a combination of practical skills, leadership, and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include supervising teams, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will learn to plan and schedule work, monitor progress, and contribute to the overall success of the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and Scheduling: Developing work programs, scheduling tasks, and allocating resources (labour, materials, equipment).
  • Supervision: Leading and directing teams of workers, providing instructions, and ensuring tasks are completed correctly and safely.
  • Health and Safety: Implementing and enforcing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring progress of work, ensuring quality standards are met, and identifying and resolving any issues.
  • Resource Management: Managing materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are available when needed and properly maintained.
  • Communication and Coordination: Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, communicating progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any incidents or issues.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving any problems that arise during the project, ensuring it stays on track.
  • Learning and Development: Participating in training programs, learning new skills, and developing knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: 5 GCSEs (A-C or 4-9) including English and Maths, plus additional qualifications such as A Levels, BTEC, or T Level.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and solve problems.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Organisation and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.

Commitment to Professional Development: Willingness to complete the apprenticeship coursework and gain the qualification to develop professionally within the construction industry.
