The Apprentice, Rig Equipment supports the maintenance, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of critical drilling equipment in both shop and field environments. This role develops hands-on mechanical skills while ensuring safe operations, accurate reporting, and reliable equipment performance under the guidance of experienced technicians.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Perform maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation of drilling equipment (mud pumps, draw works, rotary tables, blocks, and related systems) in shop and field environments
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, conduct performance testing, and support equipment reliability and uptime
• Follow all safety procedures, permit systems, and Safe Operations Verification practices, identifying hazards and stopping work when required
• Maintain accurate service reports, document equipment condition, and communicate findings to supervisors
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and assist across departments while meeting operational demands and travel requirements

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational, technical, or postsecondary engineering education is an asset
• A valid driver’s license is required
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical maintenance and repairs
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with mechanical aptitude
• Effective communication and basic computer skills, with the ability to work under supervision in a team environment
