Apprentice Plumber
Purpose: As an apprentice plumber, you will play a crucial role in the success of our projects. While working under the direct supervision of licensed journeyman or contractor plumbers, you will learn to install, modify, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures in gas, water, and drainage systems for single-family residential or multifamily housing. The purpose of your apprenticeship is to earn your journeyman license so you can then teach apprentice plumbers the trade.
Responsibilities:
• Learn to inspect, install, modify, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures in gas, water, and drainage systems according to applicable Oklahoma plumbing codes and local municipal amendments.
• Learn to read blueprints and technical specifications.
• Complete quality control sheets and job site documentation accurately.
• Assist in managing job tasks to support project schedules and meet deadlines.
• Learn from and follow instructions provided by supervisors and licensed journeymen.
• Learn and perform required tasks across all phases of residential and commercial plumbing.
Qualifications:
• Registration: Active registration (or eligibility to register) as a Plumbing Apprentice with the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (CIB) upon hire.
• Leadership potential and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to produce quality work aligned with IPC standards.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with builders, general contractors, and project managers.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts, practices, and tool usage.
• Ability to follow direct safety and technical instructions.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a reliable means of transportation.
• Strong work ethic displayed daily.
• Ability to work 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend overtime as required.
Core Physical Requirements
• Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50–75 lbs independently.
• Mobility: Capacity for climbing ladders, crawling in tight spaces (attics/crawlspaces), and kneeling for extended periods.
• Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination for precision work with small tools and components.
• Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for 8–12 hour shifts in varying weather conditions or non-climate-controlled environments.
