Apprentice Pipefitter

REPORTS TO

Assembly Supervisor

The successful candidate will be required to layout and install various major equipment, while meeting various codes and specifications within a fast-paced, detail-oriented shop environment. Shift-4:20-2:30 (4 days/week,10 hours/day). Overtime is as required.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret company and customer supplied drawings and specifications to ensure quality work performed
• Installation and placement of major equipment
• Installation and supporting of spooling
• Skid layout for small bore piping
• Fitting of socket and screwed small bore pipe
• Read, interpret and red-line construction drawings and blueprints (isometrics, P&IDs, G.As)
• Pneumatic testing of spools
• Be an active participant in the company's safety program

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Registered apprentice
• 1-2 years experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
• A team player with good organizational skills
• Fall Arrest and AWP certificate would be considered an asset
• Ability to work independently, efficiently, and safely in a fast-paced shop environment
• Good communication skills, both written and oral
• Successful completion of a pre-employment functional
• Successful completion of a Pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Candidates are required to supply their own standards tools. Specialty tools will be provided by Startec.
