Western Truck Repairs is a well-established name in the heavy vehicle smash repair industry and part of the AMA Group – Heavy Motors division. We provide a full range of services, from minor repairs to complete, hand-finished rebuilds, delivering quality workmanship across every job.

Located conveniently near Melbourne’s Ring Road and Westgate Bridge, our site is a busy, professional workshop where skilled tradespeople, including panel beaters, mechanics, fabricators, spray painters, and electricians, work together as one team. We pride ourselves on a strong, positive culture and are continuing to grow.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a 3rd Year Apprentice Panel Beater to join our team at Western Truck Repairs.

This role is ideal for someone who has already developed foundational skills and is looking to further refine their trade under the guidance of experienced professionals, working on a variety of heavy vehicles.

Role Responsibilities

As a 3rd Year Apprentice Panel Beater, you will:

  • Assist in repairing and replacing damaged bodywork on trucks, buses, and trailers using welding, cutting, and specialised equipment
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles in line with job sheets
  • Accurately label and store parts during the repair process
  • Check new parts for accuracy and damage prior to fitting
  • Support the team in delivering high-quality repairs and finishes

What You’ll Be Required To Do

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE
  • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are kept clean, safe, and in working condition
  • Continue progressing through your apprenticeship training and complete all required theory work on time

About You

  • Currently completing your 3rd year apprenticeship in Panel Beating
  • Strong willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to your trade
  • A genuine passion for the heavy vehicle repair industry and desire to build a long-term career
