Apprentice Painter and Decorator

Based at our regional office in Belmont, Durham, with set days out in the community and to attend college

Pay, £21,216 (under 20) - £24,853 (21 and over)

Hours, 37.5 hours per week

24-month fixed term, with the potential for a permanent role at the end

About the role

You’ll be a valued member of the team, learning by doing and supporting colleagues with meaningful, hands-on work. You’ll be trusted with real responsibilities while being fully supported as you develop your skills and confidence.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Prepare and decorate surfaces to a high standard

  • Work safely in customers’ homes

  • Use tools and materials the right way

  • Deliver jobs on time with your team

  • Build great relationships with customers

What qualification will you gain?

  • Level 2 Painter and Decorator apprenticeship, delivered by New College Durham

You’ll combine on-the-job learning with structured study, building skills and confidence that will support your long-term career.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who:

  • Achieved GCSEs in English and Mathematics grades 9-3 (A*-D)

  • Are IT confident, or at the very least have a basic understanding

  • Are keen to learn and develop new skills for example, communication both, verbal and written

  • Share our values, want to make a difference, and thrive in a team environment

  • Are organised, curious and willing to ask questions

You don’t need previous experience; we’ll support you every step of the way.
