The Role:

Embark on a transformative journey with our comprehensive 4-year, full-time fixed-term apprenticeship program. Tailored for both school leavers and mature-aged individuals, this program equips apprentices with the skills and knowledge to excel as tradespeople. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will undertake formal studies at TAFE while gaining valuable hands-on experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals. Your ultimate trade will be as a Mechanical Fitter, positioning you for a rewarding career path within our esteemed team.

• Complete TAFE modules within designated timeframes

• On-the-job rotational program with experienced teams at our Cardiff Maintenance Centre and opportunity to visit and learn from other Downer sites

• Graduate with a Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting

Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Strong competency in Mathematics
• Completion of Year 12 School Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
• Previous completion of any relevant pre-apprenticeship program (desirable)
• Relevant work experience, hobbies, or interests
• Possession of a current Driver’s License (desirable)
