Job Description

Premier Service is a family-owned landscape construction and maintenance company proudly serving the Chicagoland area since the late 1980s. We are seeking an experienced Apprentice/Junior Mechanic to join our growing in-house shop and support our expanding fleet.

This role is responsible for assisting senior techs with performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on company trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe operation and minimal downtime for our crews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Techs to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trucks and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative services like oil changes, tire rotations and filter replacement
  • Inspect and test vehicles or equipment to identify minor issues and wear
  • Complete repair orders and accurately document all work performed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Ford F-450
  • Ford F-350
  • Chevrolet LCF
  • Isuzu NPR / NRR
  • Front-end loaders
  • Bobcat skid steers
  • Tractor trailers
  • Light-duty trucks

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of mechanic experience, or completion of a diesel/automotive technical program
  • Eagerness to learn and grow into a Journeyman-level role
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to work alongside experienced technicians
  • Ability to pass background and MVR checks
  • No DUI or drug convictions within the last 5 years
  • Must provide basic hand tools
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
